About Us ::

      Our service department has five bays and three drive-over pits providing us access to the under carriage of all vehicles. Two of the bays have the Boden Discometer System allowing a technician to drive a vehicle on a dynometer-type device and check the accuracy of the speedometer and odometer while installed in the vehicle. This enables the technician to analyze all of the variables that can effect the speedometer calibration during normal vehicle operation. Many of the local and state law enforcement agencies, as well as transportation departments depend on our service department to calibrate their vehicles.

Technicians

Our technical staff includes no less than 12 electronic technicians and 3 instrument technicians. The qualifications of each technician vary from an Engineering Degree, Associates Degree, Technical Diploma, to more than 10 years of on-the-job training as a bench-technician. Some have a combination of these qualifications. Also, a number of our electronic staff have FCC licenses and/or other recognized CET certificates. Because of the fast pace of technical advancements in our field, we strongly encourage continuing education. ESD, soldering techniques, and SPC are a few of the continuing educational courses internally offered by Speedometer Service Company. All customer-supplied training is required.

Facility

Speedometer Service Company is located in a 20,000 square foot facility that is totally heated and air-conditioned. There are eighteen repair benches that have immediate access to air and vacuum. Each technician’s bench is equipped with a complete set of required test equipment to perform all necessary troubleshooting techniques and procedures. All of our technicians are required to perform circuit board level discrete parts replacement. Three of the technician’s benches have been designed for quality control stations. Each Q/C bench is equipped with all of the necessary test equipment to perform a quality performance check.

Warehouse

Our warehouse has loading docks that allow for both two and four-foot access trucks and trailers. Maneuverability is adequate for all types of vehicles.
